Eating all fruits & vegetables-only.

Question:
this week or two im going to eat only fruit and vegetables. would i get fatter or lose weight?

Answers:
You would lose weight, but not in a healthy way. You may develop sores in your mouth from lack of protein, feel faint, and your immune system will go down the drain. Don't do it.

Other Answers:
of course, you can lose weight

That is VERY unhealthy. You will loose weight from the vegetables, but eating more than 3 fruits in a day will make you gain weight (sugar).

Also, that is dangerous to avoid protien, carbs, dairy, ect.

you would lose more weight than if you ate meat, maybe you should eat some fish/tuna in water, or some lean chicken breast to help you with more energy

you'll lose weight, but you should try eating a variety of foods

you'll lose weight but make sure you eat enough and alternate between raw and cooked. also have a variety, there's tons of veggies and fruits out there.
also, take a vitamin supplement for energy and drink plenty of water.
be careful, if you do it for longer than 2 weeks or so your body wont like you and your metabolism will be very sad.

That is actually called a raw vegan diet. My friend lost about 20lbs in a month on that, but it takes a great deal of discipline at first. She ate nothing cooked, just raw fruits, veggies, nuts and nut butters, seeds and some sprouted, low temp bread she found at the health food store. The nice thing is that you don't have to count calories or anything, just eat until you're satisfied. She looks great now, but I've got to admire her resolve! You're going to be missing out on TONS of essential vitamins and nutrients. Show me where you're getting vitamin B12. Show me where you're getting iron. Nowhere. If you choose to eat like this, you'd better take a multi-vitamin supplement with your morning meal.

Crash diets really don't do anything in the long run. The only way to lose weight AND keep it off is to permanently change your eating habits. Perhaps, instead of eating ONLY fruits and veggies for two weeks, you could make a commitment to eat MORE fruits and veggies for the next two months, and LESS white bread and pasta during the same period (go for whole-grain instead). These are the kinds of changes that make the difference.

If your body is a carb type, tall and angular, and you gain weight on your hips and thighs, but not on your abdomen out front, (pot belly) you'll do well. If your body is a fish or animal protein eating type, round, short, heavy, with a tendency to gain weight in your abdomen but not on your hips and thighs, you need the protein so you won't get metabolic syndrome or insulin resistance. If you gain weight in the stomach, eat plenty of fish and vegetabes and some olive oil with tumeric and garlic.

What you eat and how it effects your body depends on your body type/shape which is genetic. Read the book titled,
