Need advice ASAP. Friend has chest pains/won't go to emergency room.?

Question:
Received late night call from a friend whose daughter (about 30 years old)is experiencing chest pains almost with every beat of her heart. I said: "get the freak to the emergency room" but daughter wants to see doctor later today, saying it might ONLY be a case of gas or something minor like that.
Any ideas what this could be? Will call mother later this morning.
Thanks all.
Tony

Answers:
Sometimes its a breathing problem, my ex boyfriend had similar things and they usually occured at night between 15 minutes to 2 hours. He got X rays and tests done once and they said he was healthy. No one can really explain it. If its longer than 2 hours. Go to the hospital. It can be scary. Heidi

Call an ambulence and the police. They may be able to persuade them to get there. She could be having a freakin heart attack. If not force her there!

CALL!

I would give her and asprin just in case. But i highly recommend you take her to the emergency room, self diagnosis in a case of chest pain is not a good idea.

If theres any pain to the left arm thats the #1 indication of heart attack..take an asprin it may slow the heart attack down..keep watch over vital signs, cerculation things of this nature ..if person gets sleepy ..bring them to hospital now

Ask her to rate her chest pain on a scale of on to ten ten being the worst and one being the least if it is a seven or above tell him to call 911 and lie to the paramedics tell them she is a pysche patient and he has conservatoeship and he will bring proof tomoorow when his wife gets back in town because then she cant die of a masive heart attack while refusing treatment and it wont matter the next day if it saved her life I have seen near retarded and semicomatose 30 and 40 year olds that cling to denial until they actually die in front of family members insisting its gas pain because they are to young and if it is a six or below it is most likley anxiety if she sits still for ten minutes and the pain does not decrease call 911 or drag her in kicking and screaming and that might be better he wont have to try to hard to convince anyone she is not mentally competent just say she can be emotionally labile or unpredictable and history of depression apologize later
