What causes belching that tastes like rotten eggs?

Question:

I know it's gross, but it's been going on for about a week now and I can't get rid of it with antacids or anti-gas pills. Also everything I eat causes instant bloat and cramps. I haven't made any changes to my diet.

I have had this same symptom for years. Not constantly, maybe 1 or 2 times a year. Gastro Dr couldn't figure it out, after testing and his only suggestion was that maybe, since I have so many adhesions from several emergency surgeries, that now and then the adhesions tangle and kink a section of intestine. Leaving gas trapped on the upper side nowhere to go but up and leaving me with pain and bloating. Don't want to scare you, but maybe It'll give you a starting point. :-)
