Ladies: What do you think, Depo Shot or The Pill?
Question:
Answers:
I have heard a lot of bad things about depo..i would just stick w/the pills!
Other Answers:
i didn't think i wanted kids so went on the depo. It was great, no bleeding, didn't have to spend a fortune on sanitary products. Now fancy a child. Have been off depo for nearly two years and still no sign of a baby!only just started having periods again. That's why i personally would recommend the pill, at least you know where you are once a month!
My roommate and I have this conversation all the time. I'm on the pill, she's on the Shot. She loves the convenience of not having to remember to take a pill, and not getting a period either. But recently, there's been some major side effects with the Shot relating to a decrease bone density later on. Also, it makes it really hard for her to lose any weight at all, even after rigorous workouts. I think maybe you should just stick to the pill, although it's a pain to remember, you'll have denser bones later!
Hope this helped, good luck.
I stay the pill is much safer. I friend of my try the shot and she bleed for longer than her period and she bleed longer than 12 weeks. she said it was horribly and it also depends on your body if you have a allege reaction to it too. I say the pill is safer cause it come at your door and it easy to do the shipments. With a shot you have to go to get the shot done and if you need surgery or something happens to your body that you aren't aware of it could really affect you in so many ways
I would go for the Depo Shot. You only get it every few months, dont have to remember to take it every day, and there should be less side effects. Or, you can also switch to the IUD. It works better. I would not stay on the Pill. It didnt work with my body, but it is up to you. Each body is different - talk to your doctor!
In terms of side effects - I would go either the Depo or the IUD!
I've been on Depo before - there are pro's & con's to both options.
Depo is convenient and you don't really get a period (which may be nice, if your used to horrendus cramps). BUT - weight gain is a concern & also bone density can be compromised the longer you use it.
Good Luck
Every body reacts a different way a lot of women I know stoped using the Shot becuase of the side effects you can try it & see how you feeel.
I have heard that you gain alot of weight on the shot. "Half of all Depo-Provera users have no periods at all during the first year of use. And pregnancy symptoms such as weight gain, mild headaches and breast tenderness are also common side effects of the drug" and my mom who is a nurse says a lot of people gain weight and are not able to get it off. Its your choice but I would go with the pill.

I take the pill. it depends. On the depo you some what gain weight if you are a little chucky already. i've seen plenty of thick females gain more weight off the depo. pill have not made me gain anything. just have to remember to take the pill every day around the same time.
I went on the depo and I gained about 2 stones in weight. But I know a woman who was on the depo for 10 years without gaining any. It all depends on the woman. I have also been on the pill and I found it difficult to remember to take it everyday. A lso I refuse to use the pill now as my mum fell pregnant while she was taking it. I am using the implant now, I find it easier than both of the above. You have it inserted and it lasts for 3 years or 5 depending on the one you choose. If I was you I would look into more than just the pill and depo. For example there is also the patch which is just like a nicotine patch and you change it once a week.
