Personally, no. You should both get it buzzed really close to your scalp but don't get completely bald. It's a turnoff. Especially, since you say, you don't know how it'll look--you might have some freckles or things that, well, if you got your hair buzzed, people wouldn't notice too much but if you went completely bald then they might run away.
