i have 3 kids?

Question:
i make my kids brush their teeth 3 times a day and moutwash in mornin and before bed.people r tellin me that it's too much for them their ages r 3, 4 and 6. Is that too much or is it good for them to do all that already! I have always done it and I want them to have pretty and healthy teeth too. but are they too young to start mouth wash and am i having them brush too many times?

Answers:
You're doing just fine! 2-3 times a day is correct. They will appreciate you for it later on in life when they have healthy teeth.

Other Answers:
i'm not sure if there is such thing as brushing too many times.

i am not dentist but i know it's good to start your kids off taking care of their teeth

how old r u. well that dont matter every 1 should respect you for ho u r.

Mouthwash might be too much, but brushing definitely good. What about flossing? You can get those little "pick" type things and kids love them.

i think it's a good thing that you are teaching them good dental care. my parents didn't stress it and i've had 18 cavities in my younger years. i wish i would of had you as a mommy.

i, in my opinion i think two is enough 3 is good but also it could lead to sensitive teeth, i use to wash mine everytime aafter eating and i suffer of sensiteve teeth, so now i only do it twice daily! i hope that helps! good luck! ;)

You don't have to worry to much about the baby teeth, as they will lose those starting at about six. But I think the habits you are teaching them are important, and should support a lifetime of good oral health.

I think it good that you are teaching your kids good dental hygiene, although three times a day seems a little excessive for their age. I disagree with making them use the mouthwash.

WAY TO GO, MOM! (Assuming you are encouraging them with love and praise and it's not a knockdown-drag-out.) Your attention to your children's oral health is to be commended. If they have teeth, brush them. Your modeling a good example and showing them the value of good health. A beautiful smile builds self confidence and others will smile back. Your main concern should be if the kids are swallowing the toothpaste. Too much fluoride intake can cause mottling of tooth enamel caused by Dental Fluorosis. (Ugly brown stains). Most municipal areas have fluoridated drinking water. That alone may decrease cavities by up to 60%. If community water is not fluoridated, a prescription of fluoride should be taken until all permanent teeth have erupted. As for the mouthwash, if it is painful for them (stinging and burning) then I would not recommend it. There are products that are just as effective with a milder taste. Again, great job. I'm sure their dentist will be proud.
