What can I do to stop the tears from falling?

Question:
I hate it when I burst into tears in front of other people. It's embarrassing. What can I do to stop from making a fool of myself by breaking into tears in front of other people?

Answers:
Prepare yourself before you go into the sentimental situation, for example, during your farewell party in a company. Rehearse the event over and over in your mind, think of what are the things you will say and what people will say to you. You can get emotional when you think about these stuff, and when it really happens, your feelings won't be so strong, and probably you can control your tears better.

Other Answers:
control, control and control. don't get emotional

Turn off your sensitivity valve:) LOL

Nothing than your own WILL POWER can help you do that.

try to be strong and learn to control it, it just takes practice

Focus on the issue at hand, whatever needs to be done. Try to be professional and friendly about whatever is going on. Even as a guy I have a little problem controlling my emotions, but it's a struggle I deal with almost every day.

i asked the same question and i think all you can do is tell urself its not worth crying.. if u know u r going to cry in 10 mins start teling urself tht u r strong and this situation doesnt require tears.. gotta be mentally strong

Does it happen a lot? I am a REALLY sensitive person, I probably have some emotional problems or something, it sounds like you might too if you cry in front of people all the time. Maybe you should talk to someone or get some medicine to help you cope.

well to answer your exact question, keep wiping ur tear with a tissue everytime u cry! alternatively, try to control ur emotions..

What are they saying or doing to make you cry? Are they directing anger at you? If they are, then don't think of what they are angry at, think of what makes that person look so stupid. Direct your thoughts to that person and their senseless feelings, not your own thoughts and feelings. This is something that you need practice with. It will come about. It did for me. I was very, very shy.

You need to see a psychologist. He will help to get from you the key troubles within you that causes you to be sad. Its a deep set sadness that caused the uncontrollable feats of tears. The better you get psychologically, the stronger your power to abstain from these outbursts. If you are under eighting, I suggest that you talk to your mum about it. Over eighteen you could talk to her too but you can make the appointment directly. Look in the yellow pages to get a suggestion of which pyschologist you should see.

Yes it is embarrassing, im havin the same problem as yours, just even explaning something tense to someone makes me cry like a river. i dunno if its all about sensitivity, but it just happens. its like its always there that waiting for its cue. but as times past, well its something that we should not be embarrassed, its something that actually we should be proud of. crying is not something that will makes you fool, its better to have to emotion and cry rather than still and be cold as stone. keep that tears from falling. unless you're in the space, then it'll float.

Don't stop crying, ever. your an emotional person. just be you. if it upsets others just nip out the room, or wherever, but don't stop crying, ever. its good to cry, your body needs to do it.

All negative thoughts, emotions and destructive or irrational behaviour come from a specific part of our minds.
This is called The Reactive Mind. This mind contains "recordings"
of past events or incidents containing pain or painful emotion, during moments of less analytical awareness or consciousness, including total unconsciousness.
These past recordings have not been analysed by us, and can be triggered by present time events or environments, when triggered in this way they have force and command over our analytical thought and action at that moment. Causing unwanted reactive thoughts and actions, which we later regret.

To really resolve this it is necessary to contact and clear these recordings in our Reactive Mind. Once this is done they can no longer have this effect on us. And we also recover our potential for positive create and optimum living.

How this is done is the technology of Dianetics, which was the result a exact research into exactly what was causing the very thing you describe in you question.

Recommend you get hold of a copy of "Dianetics the Modern Science of Mental Health" and read it.

Dianetics therapy is available. I myself am a Dianetic therapist.
Contact www.dianetics.org or call 1-800-367-8788 to locate someone in your area.

Can you be more specific and say WHY you are bursting into tears in front of people? Under what circumstances are you feeling overwhelmed?
Sometimes it is appropriate to feel emotional and let the tears out. Especially under happy circumstances.
How old are you? If you're very young, this is hardly uncommon among young girls and simply takes time to learn to control it and get a thicker skin, so to speak. Mostly, it's hormones. Otherwise, maybe your cycle is off, maybe something bad happened to you or you are having some deep, painful memories. This is why people seek help from professionals. Maybe you need to talk to a person that you can confide in and isn't directly involved, like your Dr. or a therapist. You can usually find a place for free or sliding scale fee (a small $ amount for uninsured but over poverty income patients) counseling in any community (check local government pages in the ph book). Maybe you don't need youqa.com, maybe you need to spill your guts to a safe person that will listen and point you in the right direction.
