Pro ana/mia?

Question:
I've heard a few stories about people who are "pro ana" or "pro mia" (anorexia/bulemia), but I'd be interested to know what the thinking is behind this. (besides starving oneself)
Please tell me if you have had experience with this lifestyle.

Answers:
My sister was "an anorexic with bulemic tendencies" and I can tell you second hand what it's done to her. This is not a good thing to be messing around with. I can't believe people out there would actually advocate being anorexic or bulemic. It is SO unhealthy for your body. You might be skinny, but you pay for it in your health. Your body NEEDS food to function correctly. And Bulemics, it messes up your teeth because of all the stomach acid you are bringing up. It makes your teeth rot out of your mouth. Not very pretty is it? Besides that, it changes your personality. It's just a horrible thing and I would not recommend it at all.

Other Answers:
the idea behind these are that the person sees him or herself as fat, and no matter what others say, when they look at themselves all they can see is fat. Starving themselfs or throwing up after eating is a way that they can attempt to make themselves skinny.

hope that helps. if it dosnt, then pretend I never posted it ^^
