Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do for fibromyalgia. It is something you just have to learn to deal with. About the best thing you can do, is exercise. Not real high impact, but something like taking a walk everyday or light aerobics. Also, when the pain gets too bad, OTC medications work great.

I would not settle for a diagnosis of "fibromyalgia". My mother was diagnosed with it for 20 yrs. until the real disease nearly killed her. There are way too many like Mom who are misdiagnosed and once they have "fibromyalgia" on their records the Drs do *nothing*. My Drs tried to diagnose me as Fibromyalgia too. but I recently got the real diagnosis and w/ proper treatments I no longer suffer 90% of the symptoms I had before.

Batty - What condition was found if not fibro if that is not too personal? I had been diagnosed with MS about 23 years ago and I found out about 10 years ago that I had severely decreased B12 in my system, not MS. Then I was diagnosed with Fibro. These conditions all have similar symptons.

The only thing that helped my fibro. pain was regular walking.but I lost my movitaion to keep walking.I'm hoping it will come back with the warmer weather.

get tested for viral infections and one in particular.hepatitis c, regardless if you think you have risk factors or not. hcv is many of us heppers' main symptom..Hepatitis C..get a blood lab no matter what the doc thinks or doesnt think it is.
