Why does the thumbnail on my left hand grow much longer and faster than any other nail?

Question:
What could cause this? Do I have an abnormally advanced thumbnail?

Answers:
As another person said before, you may tend to use the right hand more than the left hand and that tends to put more pressure on that nail more than the rest so it takes a longer time to grow as the other nails. It's not and abnormallity, not to worry it's really quite normal.

Other Answers:
Not sure about that one, but I feel like my left hand nails grow faster, but it may be because I play guitar and mandolin and I'm just more aware of what a pain it is to have nails on that hand, when I'm trying to keep them short.

It is probally because you use your right hand more and that files down the nail.

"Fingernails grow faster than toenails. Nails also grow more rapidly in the summer than in the winter. Nails on a person's dominant hand (right vs. left) grow faster, and men's nails grow more quickly than women's, except possibly during pregnancy and old age. Nail growth is affected by disease, hormone imbalance, and the aging process."

Are you left-handed?

If you are right handed like most people then it probably grows faster then your fingernails on your right hand because you use you right hand more often causing more wear and tear on the finger nails on your right hand. If you are left handed I have no clue.
