volunteer- gives you a sense of purpose, and like exercise, can improve your self image. may actually allow you to see that everyone has it rough and there are lots of people who face similiar or worse challenges than yourself.
Warren has a good point and many shopping malls open up exclusively for people to walk in before the stores open. its agreat way to get exercise and meet people.

Well lots of ppl reccomend a psychologist,but sometimes that isn't the best cure, it depends on how bad ur depression really is. Some ppl start talking to the same ppl on the phone more and more. Some ppl get put on medds. such as Zoloft and others. When I was depressed I was in my room alot and I wrote in a ntbk. alot. I also just layed in bed and daydreamed or reminised over past experiences.
