pseudephedrine is NOT the generic form of zyrtec. They are completely different drugs, working in completely different ways, with completely different profiles of side effects. Pseudephedrine is the generic form of Sudafed, and it is available as a generic (and over-the-counter, both of which cut your costs of obtaining it).
There is NO commercially-available generic form of zyrtec. Nurse is correct that cetirizine is the generic form, but you cannot (legally) obtain that in the US yet. The only non-sedating second-generation antihistamine that you can obtain in the US generically is Claritin (loratadine).
