Felt depression, and waiting to kill yourself?

How would you I help myself

I was depressed when I left college and downed a bottle of aspirin to make all the sh*t go away. It didn't work, (well, i'm still here afterall lol). I then tried to think things through and decided I had only a couple of options open to me. 1) I could go see a shrink, listen to all their BS and end up on psych drugs. 2) Kill myself. (Both 1 and 2 equated to the same horror as far as I was concerned). Or 3) Find something that would give me purpose in life, find strength and the will to create my life as I see fit. Thinking this meant "finding God", I grabbed the nearest encyclopedia and read as much as I could on religion and spirituality. Most of it was a bit of a turn off, truth be told. I was an atheist then and believed that I was responsible for my life and future and simply refused to accept that I was some pawn or puppet of forces out of my control. But I eventually did find some data that matched my beliefs: Buddhism and Scientology. I did as much research as possible, looked at all the pros and cons and, being the eclectic that I am, used bits of both philosophies to sort myself out. I also did some self-improvement courses that addressed my low self-esteem and self-confidence, and in the space of 1-2 months I had erased a lifetime of introversion, depression and misery.

That was how I did. And it worked for me. There are so many different options available out there, you should do as much research as possible so you can find something that works for you. If you are genuinely to the point of ending it all then that is your choice, but there is help out there if you reach for it. Go to the emergency room. Call ahead. Or even call 911. Seriously, there are people there who can help you. Do it now!

You need to tell someone you trust how you are feeling. Ask for help. Go to a good counselor or a therapist and get the help you need. There are medications you can take until start to feel more positive and hopeful about life.

And, if you really get scared you might do something to end your life, you need to call for an ambulance. Seriously. A lot of people feel this way from time to time - life is very difficult for everyone and people will want to help you.

maby you should try to get some help try counceling first if you have planned the act and prepaired you should go to the er before you hurt yourself there have been times in my life when i knew what i was depressed about and others when i didnt. things will pass times will get better try occupying yourself with something you can get some enjoyment out of or try to get some rest or music candels incence go out into the sun stay in well lit areas open the curtians let the sun in get a cat or dog that will love you as long as you love it you can get better be strong overcome adversity find out what works for you everyone is different what works for me may not work for you. and rember the more you suffer the stronger you get. once you get out of the ditch then you can dust yourself off and keep going untill the next challange make small goals and reward yourself this may give you a sence of accomplishment find a support group when you here people talk about problems that are worse than yours it sometimes helps and if you can give them comfort it will make you feel better start with one good feeling and try to increase it throughout the day before you know it you will wake up ready to start the day instead of dreading another day thinking why did i wake up why couldent i have just died last night. you are here for a reason better stick around your experience with depression will help someone someday so stick around overcome relax as much as you can get some rest you have work to do if you end it know you fail the test so stay strong you can do it here is a song . i had a little chickey and she wouldnt lay an egg so i poored hot water up and down her leg well my little chickey cried and my little chickey begged then my little chickey layed a hard boiled egg. bock bock

Well there's always a counselor,and their meds., there is also going and talking to a friend who understands because they have been through the same thing,or is willing to help you through the situation. If you are a Christian, then you can always go to God for your counseling. I hope that you can find the help that you need. I know lots of ppl cut,and do drugs but that doesn't work it just puts you farther and farther down after you've had your rush. Some ppl write about their feelings, but that only works for a little while. I really think having someone to talk to is the best solution, and if you hang around cheerful ppl who love their life then it sorta rubs off on you and you are glad that you are arlound b/c those ppl make you laugh and keep you smiling.
