What is the cause of gas problems in the stomach?

Question:
I experience an ever present gas problem in the stomach. It is very discomforting as I am always under pressure to release some of it. What could be wrong with my stomach

Answers:
Most likely, you're swallowing air somehow. With food, while drinking, unconsciously while just thinking or walking around. If this is it, stop wallowing air will stop it. This can be tricky as it has likely become a standard behavior that you can't quite sense. a doctor should have some ideas about who can help and how to go about it.

On the other hand, you may have some stomach pathology which is directly or indirectly causing this. I can imagine a couple which will require medical interventio since they're dangerous, but they're unlikely. There are several ways to check on what is going on. A gastroenterologist will have some ideas about how to approach the situation.

Gas at the other end of the intestinal tract can also be swallowed air, but is likely to include gas generated by bacteria living in the intestines.

In some cases, as in lactose intolerance, your body doesn't absorb nutrients the bacteria can use, and they will become very active as more food than usual becomes available to them. Such folks can still drink milk (a very good nutrient even for the lactose intolerant) but he milk must either have the lactose removed or converted to something else before you drink it, or you must take a pill along with the milk which will supply lactase, an enzyme that breaks lactose into its component simple sugars which the body can almost always handle without trouble.

Other Answers:
You could need some helpful bacterium. Try acidophilus capsules from the healthfood store. Gas is generated by the breaking down of food. Some foods cause more gas than others. Experiment to see what causes you the most distress, then don't eat those foods or eat them in smaller quantities.

you could be having what is called hyperacidity which is causing the gas.
go and do a barium test and a sonography to rule out hyperacidity.
home remdies are to have yogurt, eat lots of veggies and keep your bowels clean

What medications do you take? Several medications (such as Glucophage or Metformin) can have gastrointestinal side effects.
