How can I get a free blood pressure monitor?

Question: I just recently found out I have high bp and I can not afford to get a bp monitor, I also haven't went to the dr. yet due to no insurance. I work at a nursing home and that is where I had it checked 2 days in a row and it was high. I need a monitor so I can check it at home on my days off.

You can continue to have it checked at work. Other places that would do it for you is the doctors office (in the lab most likely), paramedics, and a lot of pharmacies have a machine set up that you can check it.

Make an appointment with your doctor, even you don't have insurance. It doesn't cost a lot for just an office visit. Discuss it with him.

You may want to try to save up for one, if you do have high blood pressure it will pay for itself very quickly. I also suggest seeing your physician. They'll be able to get you on medicine or a diet to help with your blood pressure. They may be able to get you a blood pressure monitor too. Some hospitals will even write off your bills if you make less than a certain amount of money each year.
