Are you an organ doner?
Question:
PLzzz think about this ! You cant take them with you .My whole family talked and we all want our organs donated !
Answers:
I cannot imagine anyone not wanting to be an organ donor, why is it that there are so few and so many people have been waiting for years and there are people commiting suicide and dying every day all over the universe, I don't quite understand why the hold up for so many.
Other Answers:
Yes, I'm an organ donor. My heart is not an option though. It was damaged at birth.
Definitely am. And also working on a national campaign ATM for the Alliance For Organ & Tissue donation. Why not save up to 8 people's lives and help up to 50 with different types of donations - from just one human? I just don't get why more people aren't organ donors!
As much as the thought of helping someone live as I'm dying would be nice, I honestly don't think I could be an organ donor. When I get to heaven I want to be able to hear, see an feel things and not be missing any body parts. ;)
im an organ donor! :)
How about one of those non-English speaking people? I wonder if anyone of them are donors. Too bad you may never know because you are too racist to care! There could be an illegal alien heart that may be perfect for your friend.
I was until a friend of mine that works in a hospital, told me that they won't try to save me if it says it on my license
There is absolutely no reason not to be
I am and have been since I was old enough to decide to be a donor. My father, God rest him, died in October, 2005 at the age of 63. His major organs (heart, liver, kidneys etc) were too damaged/old to be donated, but we donated some of his tissues and bone, as per his request. What a great thing that was!
There was an essay in the paper back in 1991 that I have kept. You might like it! It is called To Remember Me by Robert N. Test..
"The day will come when my body will lie upon a white sheet neatly tucked under four corners of a mattress located in a hospital busily occupied with the living and the dying. At a certain moment, a doctor will determine that my brain has ceased to function and that, for all intents and purposes, my life has stopped.
When that happens, do not attempt to instill artificial life into my body by the use of a machine. And don't call this my deathbed. Let it be called the Bed of Life, and let my body be taken from it to help others lead fuller lives.
Give my sight to the man who has never seen a sunrise, a baby's face or love in the eyes of a woman. Give my heart to a person whose own heart has caused nothing but endless days of pain.
Give my blood to the teenager who was pulled from the wreckage of his car, so that he might live to see his grandchildren play. Give my kidneys to one who depends on a machine to exist. Take my bones, every muscle, every fiber and nerve in my body, and find a way to make a crippled child walk.
Explore every corner of my brain. Take my cells, if necessary, and let them grow so that, someday, a speechless boy will shout at the crack of a bat, and a deaf girl will hear the sound of rain against her window.
Burn what is left of me and scatter the ashes to the winds to help the flowers grow. If you must bury something, let it be my faults, my weaknesses and all prejudice against my fellow man.
If you must bury something, let it be my faults, my weaknesses and all the prejudice against my fellow man. Give my sins to the devil. Give my soul to God.
If, by chance, you wish to remember me, do it with a kind deed or word to someone who needs you. If you do all I have asked, I will live forever."
Organ donors give life! What more could you ever hope to do?
