How 2 loose weight in a healthy way? How to be a smart one 4m being a bit over weight?workout regime&Diet plz?

My BMI is 28 now. Could you please help me out with a good workout and diet(which suits INDIAN climate)??

Well, I'm trying to lose weight too. The first thing is to only weigh yourself one day out of the week ( I weigh myself on Sundays). Also keep a food jornal that contains everything you eat and how many calories it is. Read a lot of labels. I drink a lot of smoothies using yogurt with 100 calories or fewer, 1/2 cup lowfat milk, and about 3/4-1 cup of ice. They are really good and really healthy. Depending on how many calories the yogurt is and how many calories a 1/2 cup of your kind of milk is it varies, but mine turn out to be 155 calories. Also, if you're not sure how many calories something is, like fruit, go to www.calories.com and look it up. Drink a lot of water. go to www.mypyramid.gov and figure out how many calories you should have a day according to your activity level and stuff. Then cut a certain amount of calories of that, like mine said I should have 2,000 a day so I usually have 1,500 or if I can under 1,000.
Eat a lot of vegetables instead of unhealthy things. If you get a craving set a timer for 15 minutes, drink a glass of water, and by the time the timer goes off your craving should be over. Over 80% of the time when you think you are youngry your body is thirsty but doesn't know how to tell you so you feel hungry. Also, when you are craving a certain food and you just have to have it either take 1 bite (if u have will power enough to not go for a second bite) and only that bite, or usually you are only craving that texture and your body identifies it as that food so if you are craving something like ice-cream, have a yogurt instead. Eat a lot of salads with low fat dressing and meat on it because that way you will be full and getting the nutrients you need. Make sure that you count EVERYTHING you eat so that you can figure out how many calories you have that day.
As for exercise, sports are awesome exercise and so is walking. I, for example, go play tennis, basketball, soccer and stuff with my friends or cousin and it's really fun and awesome exercise. Stretch too, because that gets you moving a bit and is good for your muscles because they NEED to be stretched. Make sure that you get at least a 1/2 hour of intense exercise a day, and its best if its consecutive.
