Yes, for many reasons. 1. THC from marijuana can cross the placenta and effect the baby. To what degree it may effect the baby and how much is too much is hard to say. 2. Smoke in general, whether from marijuana or tobacco, contains toxins that are harmful to the mother and the baby. 3. With marijuana, you never know what may have been mixed in with it. In other words, sometimes marijuana is laced with crack or other drugs and these can have SERIOUS side effects in pregnancy like a ruptured placenta. 4. Its illegal - but that is a whole different debate.
There are more harmful side effects, but this should be enough to discourage it.

I'm sorry "GratefulDead", but your physician mis-informed you. Smoking pot is dangerous while pregnant. There are documented cases in the literature (medical journals) of babies with deficits being born to mothers who have smoked pot. Of course, there may be confounders in these case reports such as maybe another drug caused the problem, maybe it was chance, but the likelihood they were caused by marijauna is very likely. Lots of things cross the placenta into the baby. The mother and the fetus share a blood supply and THC travels through the blood stream in addition to being stored in fat (a source of energy for the mother and baby). My sources are my own medical training that includes perinatal care and a review of the medical literature.

Umm yes anything that makes u high is not gonna be good for the baby plus all that smoke going down into your lungs..My sisters kids had bad withdrawals when they were born and i swear some of her kids are dopey because of it .Why be so selfish wait till baby's born then smoke till you drop.

I know of about 3 personal friends .. that smoked while they were preggy . there kiddos area all fine .. in fact .. think about this . you smoke pot . on a regular basis . completely stopping that would change your life style and if doing it right at the time you are getting preggy.. it could be a catastrophic and cause unneeded stress to your baby . and you. If your not smoking now . then don't smoke, but if you are a "everyday smoker" then maybe talk to your doctor about it . yes you can tell a Dr that you smoke pot .. they cant say anything . But whatever you choose . you should always try and be as healthy as you can when you are pregnant ..

Nope. Nothing at all enters your baby, and there are no known effects of pot on a developping baby. Pot is pretty much the only "drug" that you can take while pregnant with no side effects. Some pot using mothers have had babies who are slightly under average weight, but that doesnt really cause any problems or anything later on. Thats pretty much it. I mean, maybe you shouldnt go all wake and bake crazy just to be on the safe side, but moderate pot use wont hurt anything. And just to prove that I know what I'm talking about more than the "pot will kill you!" idiots up above me, I got the info from my doctor.

There are no known effects of smoking weed while you're pregnant. I actually read that in a book in a doctors office. I myself smoked when I was pregnant. I have quit since I got married. My daughter is 7 years old now, healthy as a horse and smart as a whip. My own doctor told me he would rather I smoke a joint a day than a cigarette. I know someone with 3 kids who smoked pot with two and they graduated at the top of their class. The one she didn't smoke with, struggled all through school.

I do know they have difficulty actually proving that pot affects the fetus. My mom smoked pot and cigarettes with me, way back when and contrary to my husbands beliefs, I'm fine. However if I were to get pregnant I wouldn't dream of smoking anything. I know my mom wouldn't today, she just didn't know any better then. I would highly suggest you don't do any drugs accept doctor approved ones.

everyone will say yes. but it depends. wen my mum wos pregnant with me and my twin she was so depressed and wasnt eating or sleeping properly. the doc said she was gonna lose one or both of us if her condition didnt improve. she started to smoke hash to get her to sleep and eat, it worked. she went back to the doc and he couldnt beleive how much she'd improved. me and my twin are both fine and have no diformalities. wiegh the situation up, if its worth it go ahead, if not then dont. good luck.

IT WILL NOT MAKE THEM be addicted to jack crap!! All the babies I know that have mothers who smoled pot while prego are the SMARTEST babies I have ever met!!
