toxins that attack your brain cells giving you feelings of euphoria and ease. Alcohol and drugs are pretty much just poison that have positive mental affects, causing people to enjoy poisoning themselves. All alcohol and drugs are doing is killing your brain cells, and since you h ave billions upon billions of these, it isnt so bad at first, but after excessive drinking and drugs, you poison yourself to cancer, or liver failure, or stupidity.
Other Answers:
The alcohol thins your blood and there's not as much oxygen in it so you feel funny. Maybe.
you're killing valuable brain cells.
If you're drunk, you did better that most people here.the "your" in "your drunk or high", should have been "you're". Not bad for a drunk person.
there is a great party in your head of neuron firing and filling your head with to many chemical transmitors. basically you overload your cells with to much info which causes the feelings and euphoria
basically, alcohol for drunks
obviously, chemicals for dopes..
when you have a lot of alcohol in your system, you body then draws as much water from your cells into blood system to try and dilute it. your liver is working over time to dilute this substance.. that is why you get so dehydrated, and you get a hangover.. all of your cells are being drained of excess water to break down the alcohol. To save your body from really suffering, drink lots of water as well. you will still get a nice little buzz, but you won´t be taxing your liver so badly.
Your liver filters the alcohol and when you have had more than it can clean you begin to get drunk. If you continue you will have a hangover which is similar to the early stages of dieing of thirst because the alcohol dries your system up and you can not effectively consume enough water to counteract the affect of your overindulgence.
It depends on how you take the drug. If you take the drug through a needle (intravenously), it will enter your bloodstream, get absorbed, and then pass through your blood-brain-barrier to reach your brain, where it will affect certain brain systems depending on what drug you take. If you take a drug orally, it will be absorbed by your stomach and then metabolized by your liver. The metabolites and what is left of the drug will be absorbed (and perhaps further metabolized). Then they will enter your bloodstream, cross through your blood-brain-barrier, and go into your brain. With smoking a drug, the smoke is absorbed through the fine mucous membranes in your lungs, quickly entering the bloodstream and passing through the blood-brain-barrier. With snorting a drug, the mucous membranes of the nasal passage quickly absorb the drug into the bloodstream and.you know the rest by now.
Thus, taking a drug intravenously has a quicker effect than snorting, which has a quicker effect than smoking, which has a quicker effect than taking a drug orally.
