What is depression? Can it be confused with anxiety and not boredom?

Question:

Answers:
Depression is when the Serotonin(I'm not sure I spelled it correctly) in your brain is out of whack, I don't think it can be confused with boredom or anxiety because when you are depressed you usually don't want to do even the activities you love most, feeling sadder than usual, feeling extremely tired and unfocused, close yourself off from people, there are different ways depression can surface, boredom goes away when you get tired of doing nothing, depression makes it impossible to just get over it, get up and get out of the house.
I hope this answered your question

Other Answers:
Depression can include anxiety. It is terrible to feel sad and anxious at the same time. Drs. have new treatments for this condition.

Depression is a stage of life everyone goes through. Through your mind there is no road "a" head. But you know there is so you continue to grow. Either grow or die. What do you want to do?

Depression usually comes hand in hand with anxiety. People who are depressed usually feel overwhelming loneliness, low self-esteem, feelings of guilt, and sometimes are even suicidal. It's not a good feeling believe me. It's hard to get out of. There are things like therapy and medication for it. But for me there is no better cure than a friend who cares.

In depression, you feeld extremly sad, nothing seems to be able to cheer you up, you get the negative sides of everything, etc.

In anxiety, is how you feel when you are looking foward to something that's never gonna happen.

But as the person who had replied before me said: depression and anxiety often come by hand

FROM THE SOURCE:
Depression is a mood disorder that causes you to feel sad or hopeless for an extended period of time.

Anxiety is a normal human emotion that everyone experiences at times. Many people feel anxious, or nervous, when faced with a problem at work, or before taking a test or making an important decision. Anxiety disorders, however, are different. They can cause such distress that it interferes with a person's ability to lead a normal life.

The other answers are good ones - I would also add the factor of TIME. You have been feeling bad, sad, worthless, etc.. for a long time. You can't just "snap out of it" when you want to.
Please find some help. If you are in school your counselor can help, or a teacher you trust. If not, ask your doctor. I suffered from depression for years hoping it would go away and didn't get treatment until it turned to thoughts of suicide.
Good luck!
