and the best part is its fun anyway and you can do it when you dont have hiccups.

I get hiccups really bad and there are 2 remedies I use.

1. Breathe slowly in and out of a small paper bag or
2. Place a teaspoon of sugar on your tongue till it disolves then swallow. I used this one on my kids a lot and its amazing how well it works. In fact, they would get hiccups intentionally just to have the remedy. But, it worked every time.

A LOT of experience. My hiccups will last for hours if I dont do one of the 2.

1. Hold you breadth
2. Have someone scare
3. Drink a cup of water from the side of the glass away form you. You'll have to bend over forward to do this, focusing on this task will often stop hiccups.
4. Eat a spoonful of sugar but I don't know if that works.

You are trying to stop your diaphragm from convulsing. I think holding your breadth (expanding your chest cavity and holding the diaphragm down) does the trick for me every time.

Just a non-medical opinion of course but it works for me.

I had a friend once who had hiccups for more than two weeks. It caused his to be hospitalized for days , I'm not sure what they did to help him but they stopped eventually.

I would love to answer your question but someone had a better answer, check out what the answer was on this page. It sounds like it just might work. It was voted best answer.

By drinking plenty of water.

I taught myself to stop my hiccups by telling myself that I didn't need to hiccup. I know it sounds simple, but that's all I did. I had heard that you can convince yourself that it's unnecessary to hiccup, thus talking yourself into stopping. I usually don't hiccup more than 3-4 times before I stop altogether. That's why babies can't stop hiccupping.they don't know they can! Once you know you can, you can. Mind over matter. Before I knew this, I had tried all kinds of dumb stuff.holding my breath and counting to ten (I'd hiccup halfway through!), putting sugar in my mouth, having my brother scare me, among others equally dumb. The reason some of those work for some people is that they believe it works. So, why do all that stuff when all you have to do is convince yourself that it's not necessary to hiccup? <*)))><

This happens due to lack of water containts in human body.

hiccups all the time

Either mix a lot of sugar in a glass of water, and drink it as fast as you can, or.

Stand on your head and drink a glass of water upside down. My friends love it when i get the hiccups because they think it's funny when i do this.

If you have someone nearby, you can ask them to scare you, but that never works for me.

Cousins.

A spoonful of sugar works every time!

hiccups is caused by an acid problem in stomach, a spoon of sugar helps.

but you should change your food anyway

Take deep breaths.

this has worked for me and my kids for 15 years now EVERY TIME.

You have someone plug your ears while you guzzle water. Keep swallowing for about 5 good chugs. If you are alone, you can plug your own ears and drink thru a straw.
Trust me, once you try this you will never need another cure.
