I don't understand why some women are against wearing fur.?

Question:
Some women are against wearing fur like Pam Anderson but yet she eats meat. I don't get it. She doesn't want too kill animals for fur but yet she'll have a nice steak dinner.

Answers:
how do you know she eats meat? I read she's a vegetarian.

Other Answers:
she wants to have a good rep for the public you know.

BECAUSE ITS AN ANIMAL.and Pam Anderson is a vegetarian by the way

It's the idea of no cruelty to animals. Apparently, she thinks if the cows are killed in what she feels is a "humane" way, she has no trouble eating them. (Uless she's a vegetarian. I have no idea and I don't care.)

Me, I could care less one way or another. What I want to see is people using their celebrity to improve conditions for the poor CHILDREN right here in America! It's amazing how many people live below the poverty level. How many children are going to bed tonight with hollow stomachs?

With that going on, who the heck cares about fur?

(sorry about the soap box, everyone)

Guess it depends where you stand on animal rights etc. I can't bear to think of Whales being slaughtered for so called "science" or the killing of Rhinos, Tigers, and other animals because some races still believe parts of them hold magical properties or are good for their libido, Please! that is just so much ..

I am against wearing real fur yet I eat Fillet Mignon. The reason we are against wearing fur but will eat meat is because meat is a part of a healthy diet so you should eat it but killing animals just so you can make a scarve jacket mittens etc. is just wrong and inhumane. oh and Pamela Anderson is Vegeterian

I don't wear it because I think it's ugly. The fur itself is beautiful, but it stands out so much from the body that it makes the woman wearing it look three times larger than she actually is! Fur collars do the same thing; they're just a big ridiculous thing around your neck that isn't actually serving any purpose.

As for Pam Anderson.well, who knows.

I find it strange, too, regarding the recent phenomenon against wearing fur which goes counter to human existence throughout millenia. Humans have always worn fur and not as status symbols but out of necessity. It's only been since the 40's when inventors turned crude oil based chemicals into plastics, creating nylons for stockings, rayon, etc., then fake fur which no matter how well it's maintained ends up matted and gives little warmth.
As with anything, over-killing of wildlife is detrimental to the balance of life. However, one should realize the destruction to the environment that results from processing crude oil to manufacture fake fur or similar items versus creating natural furs which uses natural tanning and curing methods which results in more earth-friendly wastes products instead of toxic sludge.

Regarding Pamela Anderson, I admire her for her views and respect her as I do anyone else for having an opinion. To each their own.

lots of people are fullof contradictions.

I eat meat and wear leather but refuse to wear real fur. I am not against raising animals for food- because meat is a healthy part of the human diet- as long as the animal has not been genetically modified and was killed humanely. The situation is similar with leather; the beef is being eaten so why waste other parts of its body? This may sound ridiculous to people who've lived their entire life in the city, but in most of the world and many parts of the US it's only practical. What I have a problem with is animals, especially endangered species, being slaughtered only for the purpose of some rich spoiled brat's fashion statement.
