Has anyone here had angioplasty or a stint put in,.how painful was it afterward and how long for recovery?
Question:
Answers:
I have not, but am a nurse. The postoperative pain should be only at the venipuncture site..and should be minimal. Very short recovery period. They should watch the patient for chest pain, and will probably do a stress test, to make sure the vessel is open.

There should be no chest pain after the stent placement. If pain occurs, it needs to be evaluated immediately. The danger here is clotting around the stent and sudden blockage of the artery leading to a heart attack. People stay in the hospital for four days after the placement, mostly to make sure the groin wound has healed well. Hope that helps.
I did not have any plasty /stent.But it is totally painless and almost cures the condition.Recovery begins immediately.Patients are observed for 48 hrs to one week.
