If you got it cut short enough, you don't have to style it at all. Just let it be. A little longer than that, brush it forward. A little longer than that, brush it back.
i would recomend pushing it together to give you a fauxhawk. i think they are totally hot when guys with short hair do them.

i think that messy is hot. also, spike your hair. change up your styles. depending on your hair type(curly, straight, relaxed) you should leave it when it grows out. if is is straight, but can take a hold, once you get out of the shower, take out the excess water until it is just damp and then flick your head to one side. i really like that look. also, dont always keep the same style. don't be scared to change it up. it keeps people guessing whatcha gonna do next! :D
I don't like hair very long for men but I would say gel it in spikes.
