Really no need to wait, it is quite safe tho a bit messy on the last day try the shower. If you dont want to do it while you still have your period then wait until you feel you are in the mood. Many women suffer from vaginal discomfort and dryness after their period due to drop in hormones. Straight after your period is your less fertile period so remember about day 14 onwards to use protection (this only reliable if your period is regular)
