Sounds like there's something else going on here. When my husband who takes blood pressure meds starts feeling like you describe, it's because his meds need adjusted. They are either too strong or too weak. He also gets dizzy and has problems breathing if he eats certain foods after taking the meds. Has your husband been eating grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice lately? Grapefruit & grapefruit juice has been shown to increase the absorption of certain medications and make them either not work at all or react badly--even resulting in death. You need to convince your honey to go back to the doctor and tell him what's going on. If he'll let you, go with him & make sure he tells the doctor--if he doesn't, you should!
Hard to answer without knowing exactly what tests he has had. Did they check his cholosterol? Is it high? What kind of tests did they do? The symptoms you describe sound exactly like someone who has a serious heart problem. Also, what type of pills were prescribed for him if there is nothing wrong: for panic attacks or high blood pressure? Stress is a definate factor in both high blood pressure and heart disease. It can also cause panic attacks. Blood pressure of 160/90 is high for a man who isn't even 30 yet. Borderline high is 140/90. I'm not a Dr. but had my first chest pain at 36 yrs. of age. My daughter had her first at 32 yrs. of age. I've had two open-heart surgeries and she has had nine stents put in her heart artery in the past five years, so can only speak from what we have experienced. Both of us passed all the check-ups and tests with flying colors. The tests said "nothing was wrong." Drs. poo-pooed us and said we were "too young" to have heart problems, that it was all in our head, etc. Both of us nearly died of a massive coronary due to this. That's why I'm asking you what check-ups or tests the Drs. have done. The only test that was accurate for us was an angiogram (a catheter is inserted up into the heart from the groin area and a dye injected into the heart.) The dye will show any/all blockages in the arteries. I had a "funny feeling" in my head, too, and it was from my high blood pressure. Drs. say that a person can't "feel" high blood pressure. I don't buy that. I can feel when mine is high. I hope your husband insists on an angiogram. It's pretty painless and safe. Both my daughter and I had take our health into our own hands and tell the Drs. what we wanted rather then allow them to discredit us. Had we not done this, we'd be pushing up daisies right now. EKG's are NOT accurate and show NOTHING unless a person is in the middle of having a heart attack, or has had a heart attack in the past. Stress tests are not accurate either. Neither are thalium stress tests or echocardiograms. We had all these, and they showed nothing. The ONLY accurate test to eliminate the possibility of heart problems due to blockages is an Angiogram. My heart goes out to your husband. Both my daughter and I have been there, and it's a frightening place to be (if it IS his heart). Good luck to you and your husband. Please let us know how things turn out.
