Will fine leather boots be ruined by wearing them in the rain?

Question:
They're thin leather that's rather stretchy, and the boots go to my knees without zippers.

Answers:
YES. What you can do is go to Wilson's Leather and get a can of their Leather and Suede protector (its about $10 and you can use it on any leather or suede) and liberally spray it on your boots outside. Wait a few hours before wearing them. If you do not treat your boots (or any leather for that matter) and wear them in the rain, you will ruin your boots with discoloration, color running, spots, and other problems that cannot be fixed.

Other Answers:
You can buy stuff to spray them with that will protect them and make them water resistent

It depends on where you are. With the storm we're getting in Iowa right now, yes. Rain would ruin your boots, spray protector or not.
