Is buying expensive make up worth it?

Question:
I always spend top dollar on all my makeup, and I'm beginning to wonder if it's worth it. Could I find makeup just as good, or better, for less?

Answers:
The uglier a person is the more it is worth it.

My wife thinks so.

If you can find make up for a less price how about you go for that one

You can probably find almost the exact same stuff really cheap! I do!

my gf does.she said it last longer.she has tons of MAC

sometimes

CHEAP MAKEUP SOMETIMES MAKES YOUR SKIN SORT OF IRRITATED AND SENSITIVE LATER ON. I WOULD RECCOMEND LABORATORY TESTED STUFF. YEP, SORT OF EXPENSIVE.

well my girlfriend swears by it

Well there are two schools of thought on this
Beauty is just a light switch away.
And the other is arn't you beautiful enough?.

MMmmmwwa.

There are good and bad in ALL brands. I would recommend buying the book "Don't Go to the Cosmetic Counter without me" it gives you a whole lot of insight.

you can buy cheap blush, eyemakeup etc. Buy good moisturizer, and foundation that will make your skin better.

I think you can save money on the eye color, liner, lipstick etc but don't skimp on the foundation. Pay for a good foundation that gives you the coverage you want that won't highlight every little hair and look really pasty.

I buy my cosmetics at department stores as well, so I understand the money question. There is a difference in many products regarding the quality of materials used. But some cheap products work just as well or better. In my experience, whenever I buy cheap products I am generally disappointed with then and end up putting them in the trash and buying my department store items again.

It depends on what you feel works the best for you. I spend a fortune on my foundation but what I use is all natural and hides my rosacea beautifully as well as evening out my skin tone without weighing a ton. As far as the other stuff I go cheap with it.

I'm afraid the answer is yes! It's just better quality, stays on your face better, the colours stay 'truer' and it lasts longer. Also, strangely enough, it's usually the more expensive brands that DON'T test on animals.

MAC is probably the best brand (except for mascaras, in my opinion) there is, and it's not too expensive - it's more 'medium priced'. And they certainly have the best range of bases for different skin colours and the best selection of colours for eyes and lips, too.
The best blusher EVER is 'Orgasm' by Nars. Expensive, but fabulous!

Years of being a make-up junkie!

Things like eyeliner, lip glosses and eyeshadow you can buy cheapily and they still look great, but foundation, mascara and lip stick it is better to go a little bit more expensive with because the foundation lasts longer and gives a more natural appearance, and cheap mascara goes clumpy..

a good rule of thumb is that anything that you want to look natural go expensive, but fun things like lip glosses and eyeshadows which can be bold colours are just as nice when bought cheaply.

Good brands at bargain prices are always good buys if you can find them.

It is not worth it, believe me I have tried most, the Med price is good Unless you have skin problems.

What do you think? Of course it is. Your face may not like cheap stuff so take care of your body.

I have tried lots over the years, some turn your face orange, I always have came back to cover liquid make up. I use the 1.00 mascara and liner, they're fine, but not the makeup.

lesss if wher u live they have dollar tree always get that those guys they be like she's wearing makeup

i think the more expensive the makeup the better.

yea any kind of make up like mabelline or cover girl works just as well. in fact i personally think they are better. but i already think they are too expensive. o well, at least they are cheaper than stuff like mac or lancome

It does make a difference. I wear expensive kind and basic kind, really depending on what kind of day I plan and if I'm going anywhere. So I don't run out as quick that way.

yyyyyyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

It really depends. There are a lot of inexpensive products that work perfectly, but it all really depends on what you prefer from your experience of purchasing makeup. I personally want makeup that is accessible at stores, so I can see the colors and variations. I also don't prefer to spend THAT much money on makeup, so if I can find good stuff that is reasonably priced and good quality, I'll use it. L'Oréal Paris and Revlon are two great examples of reasonable and inexpensive brand names that have great quality products. I personally don't like CoverGirl's foundations, but they have great eyeliners, mascaras, and lip colors. Maybelline has some nice products too-- their Great Lash mascara is one of the most popular of them all. Clinique, MAC, Lancome, and other luxury brands are most likely great quality, but that doesn't mean that they are completely necessary. There are still fantastic products that don't cost $40 a piece.

I believe in you get what you pay for. Expensive makeup is worth it, but if you dont have the money than go for LOREAL or REVLON.

I think they are about the same. I buy cheaper make-up, and does just as good of job as more expensive.
