Blow drying?

Question:
I blow dry my hair every day, is that bad? If so, what are the damages done to my hair? Give me tips.

Answers:
It depends on what type of hair you have and how much oil is produced by your scalp (usually, the type of skin you have on your face is the same).

I also blow dry everyday because my hair is fine and silky and it needs the volume and lift. However, my scalp produces a lot of sebum too and that helps replenish any damage the heat may cause. I have never had problems with split ends and damaged my hair only when I did the stupidest thing - i got persuaded to get an invisible perm which i didn't like and had my hair straightened out 3 separate times in succession - nightmare really!

Anyway, check out what type of hair you have first and make sure that you supplement blow drying with other hair maintenance such as hot oil and other hair treatment just to make sure that it's in healthy shape. Check for split ends regularly and if you do have some, trim them asap!

Other Answers:
It is hard on your hair. It dries it out and makes it brittle. I suggest a heat-treatment conditioner. There are several that work well. Just spray it into your hair, comb through and then blow dry. This also helps to prevent damage from curling irons. Also, use a diffuser on your blow dryer if you aren't already.

Yes blow drying will fry the ends of your hair. You can do a hot oil treatment or use a leave in conditioner along with your normal shampoo. What will also help is if you get a lower wattage blow dryer and also try towel drying your hair so this way the heat from the blow dryer is not on your hair too long to do any damage.

OMG i use to do that back in middle school, but olive oil helps out for damage hair, but it'll be better if u would leave the hair dryer for good, cuz OMG if u use it for a long time, your hair will fall out, look thin and omg it'll take about a year to fix, but olive oil( just a little bit like if it was hair conditioner) GOOD LUCK ;)

after time your hair becomes dry and frizzy i try to air dry my hair unless in a hurry!

Blow drying DOESN'T harm your hair THAT much. Afterall, look at what the heck all these models do to their hair day in and day out for years and they still look great. So don't worry, it's fine.

ok use that oily stuff in your hair the spray it down with a spray bottle until its wet then straiter or if you want curly use a brush to make curls and it works for me every day

don't continue doing that that will damage your ends
i don't like olive oil but u can try it my hair feels sticky and weird but my hair doesn't need products to straighten or anything it straight, natural and good i only use shampoo and conditioner and blow dry my hair once a week when i wash it

its your choise i blow dry because i have short thin hair and it makes it look fuller (+ it takes a lot less then straightening) but if you have full hair i recommand putting up in a pony tail and forgetting it. just make sure you use a conditioner specifically 4 blow drying so you dry OUT your hair.

My hair is curly and dry and i straighten it and it looks amazing.you know why? HAIR CHOLESTORAL. It is the best product you're ever buy.it's so good for your hair. And even though the directions say to leave it in your hair for 15 minutes wrapped in a towel, you really don't need to. Just use it as if it's a normal conditioner in the shower twice a month. You can get it from the drug store or sally's. it's not glamorous but it works.

Too much blow drying is damaging because of the intense heat being applied. It can dry the hair to a point of frizz. There are filters you can purchase for the dryer that will keep the heat from being so strong and direct and keep your hair from frizzing so quickly.
