I have felt that way in the past and now I step back and look and wonder how I could have ever felt like that. I am now happily married with 4 children ( 2 of my own and 2 step children) and love everyday. Everyday we discover new problems but every night can go to sleep knowing that we did what we thougt was the right thing.

Dont give up!! There is a weak spot in that prison that you made, tear it down!! We have so much to be thankful for.Even if your down on your luck now think of the good things..A warm bed, good food, air to breath, the beautiful sky.Things will get better.Just chill and smell the roses for a while until you get yourself sorted out.Its ok to have these moments, everyone does !!Good Luck!

Don't EVER give up on yourself and if you are considering what I think you're considring I ought to slap you three ways from Sunday. Everyone has a time in their life where they feel life isn't going for them but that doesn't mean you give up on yourself because you are in the midst of a storm. Yes, I have felt like nothing was going for me but try to remember the people who love you and the people you love. In times of trouble try to find a good friend to lean on and pray but don't just give up yourself PLEASE.

Remind yourself of the good things in your life, like you are alive and breathing. Change the fact that you don't have much going for yourself at the moment. Go and find something to get involved in. Do a short course in something you've always wanted to do, get a hair cut and a new shirt and see how good it feels to take care of yourself. Talk to the people that love you and care for you. They would be sad to hear you feel this way.

Humanity and some kind support. Don't Give Up!

yes, but don't give up. There has to be something good in your life. Do you have your health? Do you have kids? My sons are what keep me going. Good luck!

i agree with j'ke and no matter how bad things are or seem it will pass and things will improve and one day you will look back and not be able to belive how bad you felt..its hard to imagine but things cannot stay the way they are nothing ever does because nothing is forever. You just have to be strong and hang in there. Try to make little canges to improve things if you can in any way. No matter how small and insignificant they may seem. If you cant just hold on and something will change.

Yes.. I have felt this way.. Don't give up, find something you loved doing when you were little.. Love yourself more you have a right to be here, you are as good as anybody else.. Break out of your self made prison for a moment, it is beautiful out there and we are a long time dead, live your dream while it is here..

I've felt this way, but Ii have also been able to overcome it. So I guess there is a chance for us all. Do't give up, talk to someone like a friend, or make a friend. lots of people on here want friends, and want help, and want to help others. Just click on their names and send them ONE e-mail, they have the choice to reply or not to.

yeah my friend, I have been through that kind of situation, just remember that u have to be optimistic to get through this, there are times in people' life when they feel that all the doors are closed and its dark every where, But its not what it seems like, if u will be optimistic then you will always see one window of light always open for u, just follow that window. Work hard to get what u want, but if u do not get what u want then be contented with what u get, BC some times what u get is better for u that what u want. So never loose heart and always be optimistic

The feeling you are "in a prison of my own making" may be the result of long term depression. I have felt this way at times, and it's easy to try to "think" our way out of the problem when what is needed is "action." Get up, go for a walk, call a friend, find an Al Anon Group and begin attending, seek medical help. Too, our "down" feelings can come from not living by our value system. Maybe take a pad and pen and list the things you value, e.g., money, job security, close friends, honesty, integrity. Once you've identified them then rank them in order of importance. Finally, evaluate your past actions, and perhaps current ones in light of these values. Where you find yourself believing one thing and doing another, do your best to change.enlist help if necessary. People who are religiously oriented sometimes turn a habit, or addiction over to the God of their understanding, and give Him the freedom to choose the timing as to "how" and "when" it is overcome.
Be careful for the longer one stays in a "depressed" mode the more they may one to isolate from others, and this just feeds the depression. Reach out. If the feelings of "giving up" are dominating your thoughts, professional help may be needed. Don't consider yourself "weak" because you turn to a professional. It takes courage to make the decision to seek such help.
