but not REAL bad, you should stand tall and tell your Mom and then NEVER skip school again. it's good that you feel guilty, it shows you care about what your mom thinks. you are prolly a great person who makes a bad call once in a while - we all do - the best thing is what can you learn from this "bad call" - remember STAND TALL !

Lying and not telling are two different things. If she outright asks you if you skipped school, then tell her the truth. However, if she never asks, then simple don't tell. Skipping school is a normal thing that every teenager does from time to time.
I say what makes you NOT BAD here is the fact that you feel this guilty about it.
You're in for some sh*t, though, if your parents find out. Our school had an automated system that would call our home phone numbers & rat us out. I thought I was smooth once when I was the one who caught the call, but that stupid thing called back later & I got busted.
If you want to relieve your conscience, I suggest sitting your mom down (or rather catch her when she's not doing anything & in a good mood), and telling her what you did, that your conscience is eating you up about it. She should take it particularly well if you tell her what you said in your details there; and that you don't plan on ever doing it again (only use this line if it's true - if you come clean & turn around & do it again because you think she'll continue to go easy on you, you are sorely mistaken). You'll probably still get grounded for a minute, but you sound like a good kid, so no big deal. You can hang.
Oh, BTW, if she asks, don't give any names. If your mother were to get a wild hair up her a$$ & think she should tell your friends' parents, you're in deep doody w/ your buddies.

I think you should tell your mom what you did because you never want your mom to loose faith in you or trust. If she finds out on her own it will be much worse and she will find out because when you get report cards it will show how many days you missed or they may even send a letter or call to let her know. Dont let your mom down show her that you can make a mistake and feel badly enough to want to correct it. That will show more responsibility than you keeping it from her. We all have skipped school at one point and time but you grow out of it and your friends that are leading you to skip are not looking out for your best interest. I was just like you skipping with my friends and when the passed to the next grade and I didnt I was sad, but they were not they left me right behind and kept moving forward. They helped get me messed up but were not there to help me get back on track. Your friends will have more respect for you if you do what you feel is right not just running with the crowd.
