how long does it take a brain injured person to recover?

Question:

Answers:
recovery of a brain injured person to a normal being is very nil

Other Answers:
It really depends on the extent of the injury. Just like any injury, the worse it is the longer it takes.

depends on amount of damage

yeah depends on the injury, extent of damage etc. I recovered pretty quickly from a fractured skull, outer cerebral haematoma but still have residual effects like a selective sense of smell. By quickly I mean I was in intensive care for 1 week, observation for another, off college for another, back at college after 3 weeks and then took my A Level exams after 5 months. Got to uni, finished degree, masters and finishing PhD.

about a couple of weeks or months it depends on what happened to them!

No one can answer this question with any degree of certainty, not even doctors. Some never recover.

Actually, one should get in touch with a person who has recovered from such injury, and also ask members of his family. Your question cannot be specifically answered as you have not specified the exact nature of the injury.

Depends on the Extent of THE BRAIN DAMAGE.I know of an ORTHOPAEDIC SURGEON, Young, Handsome,& Progressive, who, while Somersaulting.a part of his daily workout, damaged, some part of his brain,or was it a Stroke..or was it a Heart-Attack, which he suffered, coz they said, his Brain, had been damaged,as it took time to revive him..After 6 years plus, he is still, wearing diapers, & has to be fed by his wife. The family is in total Doldrums..So BRAIN DAMAGE, is not an Absolute, but a Relative Term..HOW MUCH, & to WHAT EXTENT..IS THE QUESTION..NEURO-SURGEONS can ANSWER BETTER.
