Whats the best way to stay awake?

Question:
How can I stay awake if I have to finish a term paper or something. I already been trying caffiene but its wearing off.

Answers:
I try staying awake to finish term papers a lot. Keep the lights on so that you don't think of it as night time. Too much caffine will make you hyper, but just enough will keep your brain stimulated enough to stay awake. Try sleeping a lot the night before and take a nap that day so you aren't as tired at night. Try to do all your research before hand so that all you need to do it put it all together. Do your citations and stuff the next day. A lot of people say power naps help, but for me if I were to lie down I would stay asleep all night. Whatever works for you.

Other Answers:
ask someone to finish it for you and edit it in the morning

If you do not rest your brain then you will end up making more mistakes and will not be able to complete your work anyway.

Time yourself.

As it is, it is seems that you have delayed it. Make topic headings and complete them by steps. Make sure you revise before you submit too.

Staying awake, in case you have a habit of oversleeping that is something else, is not the solution.

When you feel like you are falling asleep go outside and walk for 10 minutes, well do something that will wake you up basically. And if you really wanna sleep just screw it and go to sleep! There is always next term! lol

Honestly, the best way to stay awake is to really get a good nights rest. This will keep you alert and awake when you wake up. If you keep falling asleep, listen to your body. Take some rest for your body's sake. Your body will thank you and return you with lots of energy and waking hours that is actually very productive. Your awareness level would be so much more. Also, you can take some naps (10 minute to 1 hour naps here and there-when possible) this will keep you energize and awake throughout the day. Sure beats burning out by days end. Take care of yourself in the meantime.

I had the same problem and someone told me to massage the ears, this resets the brain and relaxes it. Also try splashing your face with cold water and do some stretching, skipping and brisk walking (for your time out)it really helps and gives you just enough energy to last a wee bit longer. Good luck :-)
