I think those who do it at the competetive level make themselves unattractive. I prefer a sinewey look, or even a little doughy(cuddly) to the bulging muscle-man thing.
It's great if you dont go overboard - if you're just using it for physical fitness and to get a little stronger. But, when you start going for REALLY strong, it wears your joints out a lot quicker, and when you are older, your joints will not last as long; you will have joint problems. TALK TO A PERSONAL TRAINER AT A GYM OR COLLEGE CAMPUS!

I am a college student who works out regularly, and I talk to professionals at my school. When I started lifting really heavy weights, my joints began bothering me - the trainers told me I can still lift to be healthy and look good, but that if I was trying to be like a bodybuilder that those guys are just ruining their joints for when they get older.
