Is this true ? (about hair & nails)?

Question:
If your hair grows faster your nails grow slower AND vice/versa - if your nails grow faster, your hair will grow slower?

I saw an answer with this explaination in it. What do you think?

Answers:
well now that you have mentioned it i thought about it and my nails actually grow faster than my hair but i do not know whether it works the other way

Other Answers:
Im completely clueless could possinly be true. I know I keep my nails filed good and my ends cut well and they both grow at the same rate I think. But hair and nails are both protien. So if you would take a lot of vits they would grow better.. Both hair and nails..

i doubt it.

i dont see why that would be the case.maybe if they were made out of the same thing, but they arent..nails are the same as your bones and teeth but your hair is dead skin/other cells

That is not true. It's just one of those rumors. I have really short nails and my hair hardly grows at all. The average nail and hair growth per year is 1 inch.
