i am worried about my husband, he has been vomiting and his eyes and face are reddish purple.?

please help! my husband woke up this morning throwing up. now his face is a dark reddish color. his eyes are bloodshot and all around them it is a dark red - purple color. it looks like he has 2 black eyes. he tells me not to worry that its because hes been throwing up but i have never ever seen anything like this before. what could this be? is this normal for some people? thanks

There has only been one time that i had a bad effect of throwing up on my face. Around my eyes i had broken capillaries and had red dots on cheeks, eyelids, etc. It can be from that. If you really feel its cause for concern, contact the local ask a nurse, or call his doctor and ask them if they feel its normal or to come in.

Why are you wasting your time asking on Yahoo when you can get your ill husband to an ER?? Use a little common sense, sister..What is causing the vomiting? There seems to be an underlying problem here.
And by the way..DON'T waste time calling an ER asking "should I come in." Nurses are not legally allowed to give advice over the telephone, as we can't see you thru the phone to tell you what's wrong. If you feel the need to be seen, you should just go in.

Who needs to pay attention to what they are reading here? As I mentioned, in my "source" I am a Registered Nurse. I'm not trying to be rude, I am just amazed that you wouldn't make him go to the ER, or at least call your physician (there is always a doc on call for the practice- no matter the hour). And you didn't mention reasons for him being ill. To read your question it sounds like he all of sudden woke up vomiting- out of the blue. You leave out details, you get a less detailed answer. Very simple. Good Luck.

call an ambulance immediately. he might need medical attention before you can get him to the hospital yourself.

my former father-in-law looked like that and was vomiting right before he had a massive coronary. don't take any chances.
