Are there any anti-depressent pills that you can buy casually that you can take only when your depressed?

Question:
i want something that will make me feel better because i cry a lot and im starting to feel like it's making me feel weak and sick.. and i have pamprin and it takes away moodiness so i thought that there could be something like that that isn't for when your on your period.

.. what can i do?

Answers:
Oh yeah there are alot of things you can do to help. First off i can name a dozen vitamins and supplements to help:
5-Hydroxytrytophan
S-adenosylmethionine
B- complex vitamins
Zinc
Calcium and magnesium( together the magnesium helps the calcium work.)
Also eat a diet rich in raw fruits & vegetables, and whole grains, seeds, brown rice etc. Diets that are two low in complex carbs can deplete serotonin
Dont eat too much saturated fat
Sunlight may help if you dont get depressed all the time( like if its seasonal)
try to avoid sugars even honey and naturally sweet sugars
Avoid wheat products
I could go on for a while with this but hopefully you have a pretty good idea of what to do. also try execising it will help boost your self esteem

Think of properly prescribed antidepressants as mood maintenence of an ongoing nature. We are talking about leveling mood overall - not at will. Meds targeting this work slowly to avoid rapid mood chages and allow for a more natural and even change in mood.

Hope this helps - sorry there is no quick fix - but I don't believe we really should want one. Talk with a doc about your specific symptoms to get more detailed information and come up with a plan that makes sense for you.

St. Johns Wort helped me with my depression after i stopped taking Paxil. It helped.

Talk to you obgyn or family doctor. Sounds you could use someone to talk to as an outlet and maybe medication will help as well. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is a great thing too.

CBT patient and have been on SSRI ect medications

There are no safe over the counter medications for depression. Talk with your doctor if you think you need medication.

There are other things you can do that might help:
* talking with a good friend
- find out why you cry
- try to change the situations when you cry
* regular, low key exercise
* exposure to sun light

No, there isnt. :( All antidepressives work only untill enough of its substance has been accumultaed in the neurons and this can take from 2-4 weeks. WIth Rozac which I had it took 3 weeks. So no, its not possible.

BUt what you can do and it would be a natural remedy with no side effects as quemical antidepresives have, is to increase your intake of Omega 3 fatty acids (included in fish, tuna, salmon, nuts, peanuts, peanut butter, and some green vegetables), or you can buy a supplement available in tablets you can have once or twice a day.

And of course, eat chocolate! It has been scientifically proven that it increases the amount of endorphines in the brain, the hormones of happiness. ;)

Self experience.

when asking about this,there is nothing called by casualty.
this issue is very serious,and if you think that you need help,i guess you'd better get a professional one,and not get answers from an amateur forum.
