Does caffiene really make it hard to lose weight?

Question:
I read that when you are dieting that you should stay away from caffiene. I quit caffiene 2 days ago to help me lose weight and I am keeping a headache! Don't you have to have some caffiene in your system?

Answers:
Caffeine is bad for loosing weight because all that soda goes to your belly and you get a soda belly.but you do need some caffeine, they say it actually helps to loose weight if you limit it, they say to drink a few sips every hour or so, so don't quit it completely just limit it..good luck.tea, especially green tea, helps you loose weight and it has a bit of caffeine..

Other Answers:
Drink tea it has the caffeine but not all the sugar and junk that you want to stay away from when dieting

A few studies indicate that large amounts of caffeine — the equivalent of six cups of coffee a day — may slightly enhance weight loss in people who exercise and maintain a low-fat diet. But no studies indicate that weight loss from large amounts of caffeine is significant or permanent. There's also no evidence that increasing caffeine intake alone has any effect on weight loss.

Is caffeine an appetite suppressant? Yes, but this effect lasts only a very brief period — not long enough to lead to significant weight loss. Does caffeine increase your body's ability to burn calories? Maybe, but again, probably not enough to result in significant weight loss.

Caffeine does act as a diuretic, which means it causes an increase in the amount of urine you excrete. This water loss may decrease your body weight. But it doesn't decrease body fat. Also, keep in mind that caffeine is a stimulant that can increase your heart rate and blood pressure, interrupt your sleep, and cause nervousness and irritability. Also, many caffeinated beverages are high in calories, which can contribute to unwanted weight gain.

Caffeine is a drug which is why you are getting headaches. I stopped drinking coffee about 4 years ago when I found out it was causing cysts in my breasts. My doctor told me to stop the caffeine intake. I quit and had headaches for about a week.that is your body going through withdrwal.the same thing happens when I fast/cleanse I get headaches for few days. Just ride it out and you will be okay in about week.headache free. You will be better off int he long run. If you miss the taste of coffee, go with a good decaf coffee that satisfies your taste buds.

Oh my God, all kinds of wrongness here! It can if you are sensitive to caffeine. Some people are and some people aren't. If you are, cutting it out will make weight loss easier. However if it has no effect, then you are not caffeine sensitive and your caffeine intake is irrelevant.
