When is the best time to take birth control?

Question:
I recently got a prescription for Yasmin birth control pills. My doctor told me to begin taking them as soon as I begin my cycle, which will be in two weeks. Can I begin taking them now to change when I get my cycle? Does it really even matter? Any answers/advice would help! Thanks!

Answers:
Birth control pills must be taken each day at about the same time to be effective and prevent pregnancy. The best time to take them is at night, before you go to bed

Other Answers:
probably any time before sex would be great!

as soon as u start havin babys

When the doctor told you

if for your cycle any time your Doctor says so..

if for other reasons after your married..please

Don't, give every child a chance.your mom let you have a chance at life, right?

^^^^

Usually before you get pregnant.

take birth control two weeks after your last period..you will never get pregnant/

ITs not going to be effective now. Start it when your cycle begins. If you use it now, and have sex, you are definitly risking pregnancy.

If you are smart enough to get on the BC, why are you asking such a dumb question. Your doctor is more of an expert than anyone on here.Do what he/she says!

Do what your doctor says. The pills are color-coded according to your cycle. During your cycle, they are only sugar-pills.the rest of the pills contain a different dose of hormones in each color code.

before you get pregnant lol If you atart now it will change your cycle.

When you don't want to conceive

Night time right before you get into bed is usually the best time to take any kind of medications that are not specified to take with food because it will absorb more and faster into your bloodstream since you will not be eating any more.

Don't ! If you don't want kids then don't have sex

Follow the directions of the type of medication. It depends on who makes them. Congratulations on being responsible and planning when you choose or not to choose having a child.

It would be best to start the Sunday after starting your period as your doctor told you. If you really want to change it, then wait until after you start. You can keep taking the "active" pills until you are ready to start your period the next time around.

I have been on Yasmin 2yrs. LOVE IT!

It's very important that you read the insert in your package of pills. I chose to start on the Sunday following the beginning of my period because I've always taken other brands that way, and it's easier for me to remember. But don't hesitate to call your gyno--His/her nurse is very informed also!

Don't take them now. follow your Dr's advice!!. Taken them now will back up your cycle by 2 weeks or could mess it up and will take months and a lot of bad moods to get it right. Its not worth the headache! If your just wanting to get on them faster to make your boyfriend happy (u know what i mean) It better safe then sorry. If you mess up your cycle and end up pregnant you'll never know if your late because of the pill. Its bad for the baby to keep taken the pill if you become pregnant. Take the pill correctly now and save yourself the sorrow later. Good luck. :)
