How long is mono contagious? When can I kiss him? How easy is it to catch?

Question:

I've been dating a guy for over two months. He was told he has mono right before we started dating (2 or 3 months ago). I'm going crazy not being able to kiss him. How likely is it that I will get it (I think I've had it before)?? Has anyone ever kissed someone with mono and not gotten it?? I'm almost willing to just go off of odds and take a chance :)

As long as there are sores in the mouth it is contagious. But be careful it can be hell to get.

Mono is contacgeous for 1-1.5 weeks. Its not easy to catch if the mono is gone.
