I had Bell's Palsy about 8 years ago.can I ever get it again? Or do I now have anti-bodies/imm.

Question:

Answers:
Your chances of getting Bell's Palsy again are only slightly more than those of someone who never had it.
No you do not develop antibodies to it as it is caused by an irritated inflamed nerve.

Other Answers:
Bell's Palsy is caused by inflammation of the 7th cranial nerve. The inflammation is from a virus, which they now believe to be a type of herpes virus (no it is NOT a sexually transmitted virus). It can happen on either side of the face, and happens to men and women about equally. Happening on both sides of the face is very rare, but does happen.

The chances of you developing it again are relatively slim. However, you do not have any immunity to it because it is not a condition that will develop immunity.
