If you have your whilte and red blood cell count come back ok, does this men you do not have HIV or AIDS?

Question:

Answers:
No. It takes about two weeks for the initial cells to be infected with the virus. After this happens you would feel like a walking skeleton. However, the amazing immune system would rebound and cells not infected would cover the " space " vacated by the infected cells. The cell count would appear normal. Think of the immune system as tracks in a recording studio. The first track are the initial cells which are destroyed. This first track is still working but at a very low level. So, as a result the next track starts working until this track is lowered to a point where the third track will begin to work. You get the idea.

Other Answers:
No it doesn't. HIV can be in an inactive state, so your WBC count will not rise to fight it off. The only way to find out is to get tested for HIV, which is a very confidential process.

If you have previously been diagnosed with HIV, then you still have it. You can never get rid of it. However, if you have a normal white cell count, then that means you do not have AIDS because your immune system is functioning adequately - AIDS is the final stage of the HIV infection and is characterized by extremely compromised immune function.

However, if you have never been tested for HIV and just want to venture a guess off of this particular test, the answer is that the results are inconclusive. The fact that you have a normal white cell count is a good sign that you might not have the infection, but it is not by any means a definite indicator either way. The only way to be sure is to have an actual HIV test, preferably at least six months after the incident you think could have potentially infected you.
