Well, it really depends on what type of hyst you are having. If it is abdominal, then you will be in the hospial for a few days and will need a few supplies.

I took ear plugs, hand lotion, tooth brush and paste, sox or slippers, a light robe, magazine, very comfy clothes to go home in that won't hurt your abdomen, hair brush.

A small bag that you can keep these small items in that can loop on to your hospital bed for easy access is ideal too. I liked having a journal handy with pen as well to document my experience.

Don't worry about panties.they give you the disposable kind, your own might be too tight. That is unless you buy some about 2 sizes larger, which I did as well just to be comfortable. Wal-Mart is great for cheap ones.

I would also suggest that you visit a web site called Hyster Sisters. Lots of good advice and support. You can ask all the questions you want and get very caring answers. I would not have made it thru mine with out that support.
