Bikini Line Waxing Advice needed!?

Question:
I am looking for advice on waxing my bikini line. I do it at home, with Nad's, which I love. However, does anyone have advice on how to wax without having red-bumps appear the next day and how to make it a little less painful in the process?

Answers:
If you have naturally sensitive skin (like red heads with light skin and freckles) you'll be more prone to red bumps and sensitivities. It may also be the wax that you are using. Many brands have lanolin and other ingredients that you may be allergic to. I use titanium dioxide based wax on my clients who have reactive skin. It has more of a lotion-like consistency. Apply at a 45 degree angle as thinly as possible. Pull the strip as close to the skin as you can then immediately place your hand over the waxed area and apply pressure. Then spray some Solarcaine on the waxed area only. If you put it on other areas, the wax won't adhere. Solarcaine has lidocaine in it which is a pain killer. Before you begin waxing take acetaminophen (Tylenol) and an antacid tablet or two. I tell my clients to never drink liquor as it is a vaso-dilator (makes capillaries larger) and will make you redder! Check the Internet for wax brands, Epilyse is great Satin Smooth, even GiGi makes a lotion wax.
Give it a try and good luck! Cheers!

lotion

I love nair.might be messy and it might smell but the process is over in 5 minutes

go to the pros to get it done. You might need to switch to a brand for sensitive skin

I found that just biting the bullet and pulling the wax off in 1 quick, strong stroke tends to make it less painful. Well, the pain is more temporary that way.

To get rid of the red bumps - I usually apply aloe vera gel on the affected area. I also tried some Sweet Almond Oil mixed with lavender essential oil, but aloe vera gel is more soothing.

use sally hansen brazilian wax kit
