would you recommend tubal or birth control.?

I would never get a Tubal. It is a major invasive surgery on the organs most likely to adhere and scar. Lots of women find they experience hormonal complications including sudden menopause (with all those sideeffects) after getting a tubal done. You should really look into all the cases of complications that women have faced after having chosen this "contraceptive".
Besides most of the women I know who did it regret it and wish they could have a reversal. You may not want any more children right now.. but what if you do meet a decent guy who loves your children but also wants one of his own? Tubal Ligation has a lower reversal success rate.
IMHO> If the guys are the ones screwing up lives by running off when a baby comes into the picture.. they need to be the ones getting snipped.
Good luck and don't let a bad experience compell you into a big mistake.

if you are for sure you dont want any more children i would go with the tubal but if there is even the smallest chance you could want more kids get an IUD
I have only one son and there's no father in the picture. I was set up to be serialized and at the last min backed out. I have regretted it ever since. I do NOT want any more kids. I LOVE the one I have but doing it on my own again is not something I ever want to go through again.
An IUD might be a good option..if your body accepts it. VERY effective!! (I tried and I plain couldn’t keep it in.)
I was going to have this new procedure done. It’s easier and safer than a tubal. Since it’s new, it’s a little hard finding someone to do it. Here’s the info: http://www.essure.com/
If you a not sure if you want kid get on a type of birth control i dont recomend the pill thought, but if you dont want any more go with the tubal.
23 is young for tubal.. some docs decline to do a tubal on someone your age. As someone else said,, what if a couple yrs down the road you find "THE MAN" and he wants kids and suddenly you want to have his kid? Consider Tubal Ligation as absolutely permanent and NOT reversable.
Check w your doc about some longer term birth control that is easier to use and ask what doc thinks about doing a tubal at your age. The pills have been known to cause strokes and if you are overweight or smoker, or have high blood pressure you have more risk. Condoms are way so unreliable. Ask about longer term birth control like an IUD, a pill called Seasonal, and Depo Provera.
If you were my daughter, I'd say go with a longer term birth control instead of the daily pill and put off the tubal until you are at least 30.
I've not heard alot about hormonal changes- the ovaries are not involved in the surgery. Any surgical procedure has the risk of adhesions/scar tissue happening after surgery. The surgery itself can be done in some places as a 'same day surgery'. you are at the hospital/clinic in the am and home by the evening the same day. No overnight stay in the hospital.

If you have not had a ceasearian (sp?), the IUD is a good option. Talk to your doctor for sure, and it is pretty expensive unless you have health insurance.
Otherwise, it is 99.99% effective or something crazy like that, and it lasts up to 5 years. If you decide to have a child again, you can have the doctor take it out and you're good to go.
If you are married, you should think about having your husban get fixed. And don't cheat on him.And have a great healthy long marriage.
