How long will it take for the gauged holes in my ears to close up?

Question:
I have 0-gauge plugs in my ear lobes, and I was wondering how long (after I take them out) it will take for them to close up.

Answers:
It depends: If you had large holes "punched," then tapered up to 0g then they will only partially close up, and this also depends on the elasticity of your skin. If you started with a smaller (12g or 10g) punch, then tapered up to 0g, they can and usually do close all the way up. Most people that have 2 or 0 can heal all the way up, but it'll take time.

Other Answers:
they probably won't. You would need surgical reconstruction.

If the 0 gauge is one of the bigger ones, it won't. You have stretched the skin to the point where it won't "go back." Surgery is probably the only thing to correct it now.
