What are some good natural means for getting rid of a sore throat and cough?

Question:
I have a sore throat and cough and I've had them for a week and I was hoping that there are some natural teas or something like that that could help. Thanks.

Answers:
Chamomile tea with honey is always good (and delicious!), but gargling with salt water ( a cup of warm water, a half teaspoon of salt) works best. Tastes gross, but such is life.

My housemate swears by chewing whole cloves of garlic, like six a day, when she's sick. Makes you brush your teeth a lot, but helps your immune system.

Sassafras Tea will probably kick your problem

my second choice is chamomile tea with honey

My mom always made sage tea. You put water and about a teaspoon of sage in a coffee cup, microwave for 2 or 3 minutes. Strain it through a paper towel and let it cool. You can add a little bit of sugar to make it taste better. You can either drink it or gargle with it. It worked for me.

Gargle with warm sea-salt water (about 1/2 tsp. sea salt to 1 cup water, fairly hot) for about 1 minute 4 or 5 times a day. Not only is it soothing, it can also help to flush the area clean.

takeing 2000mg every other hour for the first day and follow with 2000mg a day will help.
Also, i heard zince helps (haven't tried yet). There also the "immune" help tea with echinacea at GNC..it's good too.

good luck!

I don't know of anything to help, but I do know of a product that can improve your prevention from getting sick.
It is called Pure Works. A new antibacterial product that when put on the hands will kill 99.9 percent of baceria and viruses for up to four hours. This helps prevent sickness quite a bit as the majority of diseases are transfeed via the hands. I 've listed the website where I get it, you can find more out there.
