More often than not, I wake up with a bloody mouth.?

Question:
My gums bleed almost every time I brush my teeth. And the gums around my not-so-straight teeth are usually a little swollen and irritated..

What is wrong with me? And how do I make it go away?

Answers:
Sounds like Gingivitis. Listerine would help a lot.

I might have spelled it wrong.

Other Answers:
I speak from experiance when I say brush in a circular motion.

The condition is known as Gingivitis ( inflamation of gums ) in which its early sign is reddish swollen gums that can bleeds by brushing or in severe cases spontaneously. The common cause of this condition is a local factor called as dental plaque which acumulates on teeth surfaces near gum margin due to poor or improper oral hygien & are not visible & can not be easily removed by brushing & as in your case, that teeth are not aligned make its removal difficult. I suggest you to visit your dentist for scaling & cleaning of your teeth & follow his oral hygien instructions. It will be easily stopped.
good luck

I agree with Arash, but your problem can also be associated with brushing too hard! Brushing too hard can cause redness as well as swollen gum tissue..it is very painful.if you persist to do this, it can also cause bleeding! First, try a softer toothbrush and make sure to floss! When brushing, be very careful around the gum tissue that is already irritated.even a soft bristle toothbrush can cause further damage to what is already there if not careful! If the bleeding and irritation persists, go to the dentist!
