i wonder, what are the real advantages of being vegetarian?

Question:
i have heard for example that the pork meat may cause a parasite in the brain that kill the people, and that the vegetarians are more in phisical shape than everyone, and sickless than everyone..what do you can tell me about it?

Answers:
The advantages are many. Here are a few: Unless you eat organic meat, you are consuming hormones and antibiotics--which is one reason antibiotics are becoming much less effective in disease control. Vegetarians are much less likely to have high cholesterol which contributes greatly to heart disease. Vegetarians have fewer problems with constipation and have a lower incidence of colon cancer, possibly in part because meat takes much, much longer to digest and remains in the colon for quite a while. Vegetarians do not have to worry about the effects of mad cow disease, or getting e-coli from undercooked chicken or countertops improperly washed after handling chicken. Of course, vegetarians can also take satisfaction in the fact that their life is not being sustained by the death of another creature. Also, I believe the parasite you refer to comes from undercooked pork. As for general physical condition, vegetarians have to work out and get exercise, just like everyone else. Hope this helps.

I do it for more spiritual reasons. It's said that we are what we eat. When we eat food we take on the quality of the food. Animals have stress (especially from being killed) and we take on that stress when eat them. In addition to this, there are perhaps more practical reasons you may be looking for but just my two cents.

Being vegetarian helps your body because it doesn't have to process all the things meat has. For example, meat causes an increase in getting cancer. If you eat fruits and vegetable your eating stuff that is healthy for you. If you eat meat, think of all the stuff your eating: blood, bone, dirt, EATING PARTS THAT HAVE BEEN INSIDE THE BODY EXPOSED TO GERMS AND BACTERIA!!
