My wife just got out of surgery and has gas in her shoulders which is causing pain. How do you remove the gas?

This answer may sound kind of dumb, but if it is the gas that I think you're talking about, she just needs to.um. pass it.

I had this problem, too, after a c-section. It is very uncomfortable, so I feel for her. I felt so much better once I .um. passed it.

It helps to move around in the bed as much as you can. Sometimes the hospital staff can give you some med (Mylicon?) that can help reduce gas, but ultimately it has to come out the way nature intended.
